Land Rover Series 2A 109”. Light Utility 4×4 1968 Diesel “The Museum Car” #366
Finished in light blue, this magnificent 109 has benefited from hours of work and some serious expenditure.
Fitted with a brand-new replacement galvanised chassis with removable cross member , all new leaf springs, dampers, brake pipes and hoses, a full suspension and steering rebuild, fully reconditioned front and rear axles , new brake shoes throughout , replacement master cylinder , replacement heater hoses, replaced sump, front cover and rocker cover gaskets , new front crankshaft oil seal, new show lift pump, new fan belt , replace rear diff pinion oil seal
Not only has all the above work being carried out but every single component that has not been replaced has been treated with red lead paint.
The vehicle is fitted with an OverDrive unit, Safari double skin Alpine roof with ventilator flaps, a Smith’s cabin heater , factory screen demister and free wheeling hubs
The vehicle is also fitted with a recent stainless-steel exhaust, rear lift up handles , “salad basket” rear light protectors.
This delightfully patinated example of a spent the latter part of its life stored in a transport museum in the Midlands , having been the property of its Land Rover connoisseur owner for many years.
This vehicle is identical to that which was used as the basis for the famous Cuthbertson tracked 109 .
Registered as a historic vehicle.
